Barbourville Independent Schools Valentine Program; “One to Remember”

By: Hunter Jones, Senior at Barbourville High School

This year the Barbourville Independent School Valentine’s Day program was one to remember. On Wednesday, February 14, two students from each class took to the floor to represent their class in a fundraising competition to benefit the music program. After they all walked out, the royalty was crowned and this year the coveted title went to Bradley Simpson and Whitney Messer for the highschool, and for the elementary school,  R.J. Messer and Journey Jordan. It wouldn’t be the Valentine’s Day program without our basketball sweethearts, and this year the role was awarded to Emily Bolinger and Trenton Shaw. Each year, the two chosen sweethearts perform a skit to the song “Let Me Call You Sweetheart.” Each year, the program ends with students that perform in front the crowd to showcase their musical talents to promote the BIS music program.
