Missing teen from Indiana found in Knox County.

Gray, Ky. (November 9, 2018) On Thursday, November 8, 2018 at approximately 3:45 p.m., Kentucky State Police, Post 10, Harlan was contacted by Indiana State Police requesting assistance attempting to locate a missing Indiana teen that was possibly in the Knox County area. KSP was notified the 15 year old teen was with her Father, Thomas Ray Childers, whom were both entered NCIC as missing since their whereabouts had been unknown since September 19, 2018. Post 10 was informed that Mr. Childers had lost custody of his daughter due to allegations of abuse. KSP was also advised Mr. Childers had active warrants in Indiana, one in Illinois, and one from Kentucky.

Indiana State Police informed KSP Post 10 both individuals may be staying at an address at Logan Hollow Road in the Gray community of Knox County. At approximately 5:00 p.m. Tpr. Sammy Farris and Tpr. Josh Cox arrived at the residence in an attempt to locate Mr. Childers and the missing teen. Upon arrival, Mr. Childers was in the driveway and walked back inside the residence. Tpr. Cox had located a door on the residence that was unlocked. Mr. Childers then released the teen and the arrest was made without further incident.

Thomas Ray Childers (40) was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center on charges of Flagrant non-support and Fugitive from another state warrant required. Knox County Social Services contacted Indiana Social Services and made arrangements for the teen to be reunited with her mother whom had active custody of her.
