Obituary for Betty Jean Miracle (1958-2021)

Mrs. Betty Jean Miracle, 63, of Cannon, passed away Tuesday morning, September 21, 2021 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late R. C. and Anna Lee Smith born on June 18, 1958 in Knox County.

Betty was a customer service representative with Maximus Federal Service and a member of the Eagles Rock Missionary Baptist Church.  She enjoyed shopping, decorating her home, tending her flower beds and dearly loved spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren.

On February 22, 1981, she united in marriage with Mike Miracle and to this union two daughters were born.

Survivors include her loving husband, Mike Miracle of Cannon; two beloved daughters, Kim Hurst and husband, Kenneth, of Gray and Kendra Sizemore and husband, Chris, of Cannon; three brothers, Cleveland Smith, Harlan Smith and wife, Tammy, and Tolman Smith and wife, Beverly, all of Barbourville; precious grandchildren, Sydney Hurst and Brayden Sizemore; a special sister-in-law, Jean Owens of Barbourville; a special cousin, Mary Etta Smith and husband, J. L., of Woollum; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, September 27 at 12 Noon with Rev. Jared Styles and Rev. Rick Broughton officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Travis Smith, Rodney Smith, Brandon Bright, Tyler Mills, Tim Shelton and Tom Alford.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. West and the ICU nurses at the Barbourville ARH Hospital for the care shown to Betty.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Monday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
