Betty Ruth Mills Smith, age 69 of Greenroad, was born in Knox County, KY on February 15, 1956 to the late Earl and Edna Stewart Mills and departed this life on May 9, 2025 in the Baptist Health of Corbin Hospital. She was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed Cleaning House, working in her flowers, listening to Gospel Music on the Porch, and time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents: Earl and Edna Mills; a daughter: Norma Jean Mills; 2 brothers: Earl Junior Mills, and Garrison Mills; and 3 sisters: Ruby Mills, Brenda Jordan, and Bonnie Jean Mills preceded her in death.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband of over 44 years: David Smith of Greenroad; a daughter: Missy Michelle Logan of Greenroad; 2 sons: Pete Mills and wife Melissa of Lily, and Michael Mills of Barbourville; 3 brothers: Denver Mills and wife Kathy of Bimble, Bobby Ray Mills of Greenroad, and Harold Mills of Girdler; 3 sisters: Margie Mills of Greenroad, Billie Joyce Mills of London, and Mary Lynn Mills of Girdler; 13 grandchildren: Carissa Merida, Jordan Mills, Landon Mills, Nathan Mills, Ashley Logan, Betty Jean Logan, Shawn Mills, John Mills, Michael Mills, Kaitlyn Mills, Norma Mills, Haley Mills, and Hayden Mills; 7 great grandchildren: Colson Logan, Cameron Logan, Addison Mill, Sadie Mills, Bryleigh Merida, and Faith Mills; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Ruth Smith will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Allen Walker and Rev. Steve Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Barbourville Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m., and on Friday from 10 a.m. to the funeral hour at 2.
