Obituary for Beulah May Hubbard (1943-2024)

Ms. Beulah May Hubbard, 80, of Barbourville, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 14, 2024 at her home.  She was the daughter of the late James and Mary Mills born on July 25, 1943 in Knox County.

Beulah was a former cook at Dewitt Elementary School for 27 years, former employee of Warner’s and a member of the Salt Gum Baptist Church, where she was a former choir leader.  She was an amazing cook and made the best dumplings, fudge, chili and rolls.  Beulah also enjoyed gardening, working crossword puzzles, watching her favorite shows, Wheel of Fortune and The Price Is Right, but she most loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In May 1962, she united in marriage with Burl Junior Hubbard and to this union two children were born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Estill Hammons, Cledie Jordan, Sally Smith, Ruby Sizemore and Pearl Mills and brothers, Lark, Lester, Herbert and J. T. Mills.

Survivors include her loving children, Ronnie Hubbard and wife, Teresa, of Flat Lick and Donna Saylor and husband Jerry, of Barbourville; a sister, Altie Baker of Gray; cherished grandchildren, Travis Hubbard and wife, Amanda, Holly Rogers and husband, Chad, Chase Hubbard and Macey Sprinkles and husband, Alex; great grandchildren, Elle West, Cruz Mcdowell and Ari V. Rogers; special friends, Axie Jordan and Gustie Hinkle; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, April 18 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Kennon Roark and Rev. Vernon Morris officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Travis Hubbard, Chase Hubbard, Alex Sprinkles, Chad Rogers, Jerry Saylor and Cruz Mcdowell.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Thursday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
