Mrs. Bonnie Shelton Payne, 67, of Barbourville, passed away Tuesday morning, August 25, 2026 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was born December 18, 1958 in Paducah, the daughter of the late Pastor David Shelton and Wanda Sue Lawrence Shelton.
Bonnie was a former banking cashier and a member of the Christian Life Fellowship. She also enjoyed crafting and tending flowers. She met and married Larry D. Payne and they shared a love of a lifetime in just a few short years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Belvie Sue Turner and a brother, Rev. Larry David Shelton.
She is survived by her loving husband, Larry D. Payne, of Barbourville, other family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
A celebration of her life will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, September 4 at 2 P.M. with her husband, Pastor Larry D. Payne officiating.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
