Mrs. Bonnie Sue Hammons, 84, of Heidrick, passed away Tuesday evening, November 21, 2023 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy Gladys Ore Florek born on December 9, 1938 in Bell County.
She was a former cashier at the A & P and in earlier years had worked at Warner’s, the College Corner and Cotton’s Cleaners. Bonnie believed in the Baptist faith. She enjoyed crocheting and tending flowers.
On September 6, 1956, she united in marriage with Burton Hammons and to this union a daughter was born.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Carter and step-father, Stanley Florek.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Tammie Stewart and husband, Jerry, of Heidrick; a sister, Phyllis Sycamore of Phoenix, AZ; two cherished grandchildren, Tabatha Fetters and husband, Derrick and Jerry Lucas Stewart; great grandchildren, Ryleigh and Addyson Fetters; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, November 29 at 2 P.M. with Rev. David Barnard officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Patterson Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
