Charles Alvin Hickman age 60 of Barbourville, Kentucky departed this life on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at his home.
Charles was born on July 3, 1965, in Pineville, Kentucky to the late Edward P. and Dorothy Buchanan Hickman.
Charles was a Coal Miner for 34 years, he loved fishing, camping, and hunting, and his fireplace, he was of the Baptist faith.
Charles leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Carmen Martin Hickman, seven children; Parker Teague, Rylan Teague, Michael Cox and wife Malena, Matthew Cox and wife Jennifer, Mark Cox and wife Whitney, Austin Cox and wife Hannah, and Brayden Cox and finance Leah, six grandchildren, one sister; Mary Lou Sims and husband Beechie, lifelong friends, Sam and Melissa Buchannan, a special thanks to Dr. Tyler Carter and staff, Knox Home Health, Bluegrass Navigators, Alfred Marsee, Kelly Teague, Joe Taylor, and Robert Cox.
Funeral services for Charles Alvin Hickman will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 2:00 P.M in the chapel of The Barbourville Funeral Home. Brother Sam Buchannan and Brother Jimmy Miller will be officiating. Interment will follow in Barbourville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 5:00 P.M until 9:00 P.M. in the chapel of The Barbourville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Matt, Michael, Mark, Robert, Austin, Brayden, Joe and Tyler.
