Mrs. Claudia B. Jones, 85, of Cleveland, TN, formerly of Corbin and Barbourville, passed away Wednesday evening, October 30, 2019 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Everett and Violet Tuggle Burnett born on June 6, 1934 in Knox County.
Claudia was a homemaker, a member of the Church of God and enjoyed tending flowers, quilting, cooking and gardening.
On January 31, 1954, she united in marriage with Theodore W. “Ted” Jones and to this union three children were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jewell McCowan and two brothers, Argie and Don Burnett.
Survivors include her children, Teddie Bennett and husband, Donald, and Shirley Garmon and husband, Fred, all of Cleveland, TN and Michael Jones and wife, Kim, of Corbin; seven grandchildren, Rachel Hicks and husband, Edward, Dr. Sarah Colonna and husband, Dr. Alexander Colonna, Abigail Fletcher, Marissa Bunch and husband, Kevin, Whitney Meyer and husband, Nathan, Zachery Jones and wife, Krystal, and Spencer Jones and wife, Kelli; 12 great grandchildren, Fletcher, Winston, Harper and Jones Hicks, Gabriel, Claudia and Theodore Colonna, Ella and Marley Bunch, Greyson Meyer, Charli Grace and Derby K. Jones; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, November 3 at 2 P.M. with Dr. Fred Garmon officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Zachery Jones, Spencer Jones, Alex Colonna, Fletcher Hicks, Winston Hicks and Kevin Bunch.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday after 12 noon until the funeral hour.
