Obituary for Cleo Chadwell (1946-2024)

Miss Cleo Chadwell age 77 of Girdler, Kentucky departed this life on Friday, April 19th, 2024 at the home of her niece in Gray. She was born on September 7, 1946 in Knox County and was the daughter of Edgar and Mossie (Mills) Chadwell. Cleo was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of God. She enjoyed coloring, working puzzles and in her younger years, playing with marbles.

      She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Mossie Chadwell, a twin brother, Leo Chadwell, an infant brother, Eugene Chadwell, three other brothers, Bobby Chadwell, Jerry Chadwell and Perry Chadwell, one sister, Christine Mills, two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Chadwell and Ethel Chadwell and two brothers-in-law, Clinton Alvin Jones and John Hershel Jones.

      Left behind to mourn her passing, two sisters, Helen Jones of Girdler and Betty Jones of London, one brother, Glenn Chadwell of Lebanon, Ohio,  a very special niece, Kim Smith and husband Ralph of Barbourville, several other nieces and nephews, Melissa Frost and husband Michael of Gray, Diana Murphy of Barbourville, Kay Dixon and husband Bill Matt of Barbourville, Tina Hibbard and husband James of Girdler, Randy Jones and wife Jean of Cynthiana, Kentucky, Sherry Eling and husband Richard of Liberty Township, Ohio, Michelle Beatty and husband Jim of Oregonia, Ohio, Lisa Chadwell Edwards of Barbourville, Tammy Fuson and husband Jerry of Barbourville, Marvin Chadwell of Barbourville, Michael Chadwell and Troy Chadwell of Ohio, Darlene Mills and Kenny Mills of Erlanger, Kentucky. She also leaves behind many great nieces and nephews and many great-great nieces and nephews.

      A graveside service for Cleo Chadwell will be held at the Chadwell Cemetery in Girdler on Thursday, April 25, 2024, with Brother Colonel Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Jones, Ralph Smith, Brandon Frost, Robert Frost, Josh Murphy and Michael Frost. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Frost, Bill Matt Dixon, Matthew Dixon, Richard Eling, Jim Beatty, Jacob Jones and James Hibbard.

      Family and friends will leave the funeral home at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday and go in procession to the cemetery for services.
