Obituary for Cleveland Mills (1935-2026)

Mr. Cleveland Mills, age 90, of Flat Lick, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 in the Christian Care Community in Corbin. He was born on October 14, 1935 in Knox County, the son of Tip Mills and Melinda (Callahan) Mills.

On August 26, 1955, he united in marriage with Cora Mae Mills and to this union two sons were born. He was a member of the Hinkle Branch Holiness Church. Cleveland was a truck driver for thirty-six years and had driven for G&M Oil Co. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing in his spare time. While at the Christian Care Community, he especially like attending all the activities for the residents.

He is preceded in death by his wife Cora Mae Mills, his parents, Tip and Melinda Mills, one son, Charles Mills, three sisters, Mae Townsley, Tressie Smith and Bernice Woolum, three infant brothers and two great-grandchildren.

Left behind to mourn his passing, his son Curtis Mills and wife Donna of London, a daughter-in-law, Reda Mills Morgan of Barbourville, six grandchildren, Joey Mills and wife Stacy of Knoxville, Tennessee, Tabitha Robin Smith and husband Tony of Girdler, Cody Mills and wife Jenna of Barbourville, Dylan Mills and wife Caitlyn of Barbourville, Matthew Peters and wife Ashley of East Bernstadt and Alexzandria Harris of London, thirteen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend special thanks to his caregivers, Rosa Bennett, Judy Keith, Beth Cheek, Tonya Partin, Brenda Gray along with all the doctors nurses and staff of the Christian Health Care Community for the wonderful love and care shown to Cleveland during his stay.

Funeral services for Mr. Cleveland Mills will be conducted on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Timmy Harris officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in the Hinkle Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joey Mills, Cody Mills, Dylan Mills, Matthew Peters, Wendell Ward, Ferlin Bargo, Steven Bright and Jeff Bright. Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
