Mr. Darrell “Bogie” Sowders, 64, of Corbin, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 15, 2026 at the St. Joseph London Hospital. He was the son of the late William “Bill” and Louise Hurd Sowders born April 8, 1961 in Pineville.
Darrell was an automobile salesman and a believer of the Baptist faith. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. Darrell also was a collector of sports cards and hot wheels.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Carl Brock.
Survivors include his loving daughters, Whitney McDaniel and husband, Travis, and Stephanie Jones and husband, Alex, all of Corbin; a sister, Debra Brock of Danville; brothers, Larry Sowders and wife, Londa, of Barbourville, John Sowders of Corbin and Marion Sowders and wife, Lana, of Houstonville; cherished grandchildren, Brylee, Parker and Sayler McDaniel, Grayson, Asher and Skyler Jones; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, February 19 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Chris Fuson and Rev. Larry Sowders officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Marion Sowders, John Sowders, Jamie Sowders, Larry Sowders Jr., Travis McDaniel and Alex Jones. Honorary bearers will be Parker McDaniel, Grayson Jones, Asher Jones, Brylee McDaniel, Sayler McDaniel and Skyler Jones.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
