Obituary for Delma Jane Davis (1949-2024)

Mrs. Delma Jane Davis, 74, of Artemus, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 4, 2024 at Baptist Health Corbin. She was the daughter of the late Doyle Farris and Charity Lona Slusher Nipper born June 15, 1949 in Detroit, MI.

Delma was a former order processor for Merck Warehouses and enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, fishing, camping and reading. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

On January 27, 1967 she united in marriage with Jimmy Arnold Davis in Pineville.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by dearly loved sons, Bobby Nipper and Doyle Ray Davis and sister, Barbara Faye Cialone.

Survivors include her loving husband of over 57 years, Jimmy Arnold Frederick Davis; children, Jimmy Arnold Davis Jr., Shiela Ann Bond and fiancé, Michael Nottingham, all of Trosper and Tina Marie Davis and partner, Chuck Bischel, of Tampa, FL; cherished grandchildren, Billy Bond, Charity Watts, Mariah and Jessica Davis, Chucky and Amber Bischel, Stephen Nipper and Brittany Hammons; great-grandchildren, Kenna and Lilah Bond, Oliver Davis, Robert Blankenship, Kayden Driver, Braxton Watts, Weston Cornelius, Mason and Emma Nipper, Colton Bischel and Ally and Tucker Hammons; fur babies, Ralphy and Snoopy; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, February 11 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Les Broughton officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Burch Alford Cemetery.

Serving as casket bearers will be Billy Bond, Chucky Bischel, Andrew Cornelius, Brett Frederick, Michael Nottingham, Curt Davenport, Robert Brown and Waylon Miller. Serving as an honorary bearers will be Chuck Bischel and Robert Blankenship.

Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday between 5 and 8 P.M. and on Sunday after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
