Obituary for Donald Ray Bingham, 90

Barbourville, Ky. – Donald Ray Bingham, 90, of Oak Grove, Alabama, formerly of Barbourville, Kentucky, was called home on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Ann Bingham Weldon (Steve) of Oak Grove, Alabama and Donna Lynn Bingham of Oak Grove, Alabama, three granddaughters, Katie Weldon (Derek) of Dunwoody, Georgia, Casey Weldon (Salvador) of Chicago, Illinois, Riley Weldon (Zach) of Woodbridge, Virginia, and one great-grandson, Rylan Rajavuori of Dunwoody, Georgia. He is also survived by his siblings, Maxine Warfield of Barbourville, Kentucky, Wilbur Bingham of Barbourville, Kentucky, Sharon Criswell (Chris) of Charles Town, West Virginia, Dean Bingham (Judy) of Dewitt, Kentucky, Gerald Bingham (Vivian) of Dewitt, Kentucky, Debbie Stewart (William) of Corbin, Kentucky, one niece, three nephews, and six grand nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his wife Mary Ann Cornett Bingham, his parents Ulys and Beatrice Bingham of Dewitt, Kentucky, two infant brothers, John Boyd Bingham and Ulys Bingham, Jr., and one nephew, Jack Michael Warfield. 

Mr. Bingham dedicated thirty-two years to Knox Central High School where he taught health and physical education and coached basketball. He was also a farmer who loved the outdoors. Prior to teaching and coaching, Don played basketball for the University of Tennessee, the United States Army, and Cumberland College. He loved all sports, but throughout his life, basketball remained his favorite. He enjoyed hunting, riding his horses, and driving his tractor. Above all things, Don was strong in his faith and devoted to his church.
