Obituary for Edwin Ray Decker (1961-2026)

Mr. Edwin Ray Decker, 65, of Woodbine, passed away Saturday morning, June 20, 2026 at his home. He was born June 11, 1961 in Corbin, the son of Verna Engle Decker and the late Glenn Decker.

Ray was a former restaurant cook and a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Wyoming, OH. He enjoyed playing golf, watching football and was a skilled machinist. He was also a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

On May 23, 1988, he united in marriage with Melinda Borders in Sharonville, OH.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Lee Decker, granddaughter, Chloe, and grandparents, Andy and Magdaline Decker and Otis and Amie Engle.

Survivors include his loving wife, Melinda Decker of Woodbine; mother, Verna Decker of Woodbine; children, Mary Paige Decker and husband, Dustin, of Lebanon, OH, Kris Johnson of Kettering, OH and Shane Johnson of Ft. Smith, AR; a sister, Kristina Hensley and husband, Phillip, of Woodbine; cherished grandchildren, Savannah, Hunter, Bentley, Destiny and Seth; a niece and nephew; among other relatives and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted at the Indian Gap Missionary Baptist Church Thursday, June 25 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Daniel Alsip and Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Wells Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Andrew Modica, Anthony Grant, Ethan Grant, Brack Grant, Eric Musgrave and Mark Middleton.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Mountain View PACE for the love and support given to him and his family.

Friends may visit at the church Thursday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
