Ellen Brown Rice age 59 of Barbourville, Ky, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, in Lexington, Kentucky at University of Kentucky.
Ellen was born on January 15, 1966, in Barbourville, Kentucky to the late Raymond Gray and Laura Tuttle Gray.
In addition to her parents, Ellen is also preceded in death by one son; Jimmy Brown and one daughter; Tracy Rice, three sisters; Wanda Gray, Phyllis Gray, and Mandy Fee.
Ellen is survived by her husband; Burchell Rice Sr.; four sons; Burchell Rice Jr. (Kendra), Dewey Dewayne Rice (Danielle), Ben Joseph Rice and Danny Rice (Angel), eight daughters; Amy Lynn McKeehan; Jennifer Jordan, Mary Ann Smith, Norma Vaughn, Lora Roark, Lena Rue, Lisa Rice, and Cheryl Kay Winchester (Robbie); thirty-three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother; Raymond Gray, one sister; Carolyn Jackson (George), numerous nieces and nephews, along with many other family and friends to miss her and to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Ellen Brown Rice will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 2:00 P.M, in chapel of Barbourville Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Hammons cemetery; The family will receive friend on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 6:00 P.M until 9:00 P.M.
Pallbearers will be Burchell Rice Jr., Dewey Dewayne Rice, Ben Joseph Rice, Danny Rice, Trent Goodin and Andrew Davenport.
