Mrs. Janet Sue Hinkle Osborne, 82, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away at her home December 27, 2025, surrounded by her immediate family.
Janet was born October 11, 1943 at Trace Branch, to Tip and Emma Hinkle. She graduated from Knox Central High School in 1961 and later that year married her high school sweetheart, Johnny Osborne of Jarvis on December 9, 1961. Together they raised two children, Tipperi and Jonathan. Janet and Johnny shared 64 years of marriage, a true testament to their love and commitment.
Janet had a lifelong passion for sewing, crocheting and creating items by hand. She generously shared her talents with family and friends, helping with clothing alterations, curtains, cushions and other sewing needs. Bringing joy to others through her work was one of her greatest pleasures.
Janet was a homemaker until 1984, when she began her professional career with Confederation Life, where she remained until the company closed. She then joined Canada Life in the Records Department and later became Manager of Records Management. Janet was one of the final five employees when the company closed in 2004, at which time she retired to enjoy time with her husband and family.
Christmas was Janet’s favorite holiday and season. She delighted in decorating, shopping for gifts and planning well in advance. She often began asking for Christmas lists as early as October and found great happiness in seeing the excitement on her family’s faces. She loved going to church and celebrating the birth of Jesus. Janet was known for her independence, strong will and honesty. She often said exactly what was on her mind whether you wanted to know or not.
Janet was preceded in death by her father, Tip Hinkle, and her mother, Emma Hinkle, of Heidrick.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Osborne; her daughter, Tipperi Wooster and husband, Craig; granddaughter, Macie Trapani and husband, Anthony; great grandson, Ford Trapani; her son, Jonathan Osborne and wife, Erin; granddaughter, Rozz Osborne; grandson, Fletcher Osborne; her brother, Windell Hinkle and wife, Terry, of Heidrick and several nieces and nephews.
