Mr. Jimmy Thanes Davis, 49, of London, passed away Monday morning, February 23, 2026 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was the son of the late Jackie Lee and Vesta Ann Noe Davis born December 27, 1976 in Corbin.
Jimmy was the proud owner and operator of J. L. Davis Electrical Contractors, where he dedicated himself to his work and took great pride in running his company. He attended the Locust Grove Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. In his free time, he loved hunting, bush hogging and being on his tractor. Above all else, Jimmy cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren and was a devoted father and grandfather.
On October 18, 2008, he united in marriage with Charity Dawn Baker in Laurel County.
Survivors include his loving wife, Charity Dawn Davis of London; children, Dustin Baker and wife, Brooke, of Somerset and Payslee Dawn Davis of London; sister, Jacqueline Ann Davis of Knoxville, TN; cherished grandchildren, Eleanore, Adeline and Veronica Baker and another expected to arrive soon; his J. L. Davis Electrical work family; among other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, February 28 at 2 P.M. with Rev. David Barnard officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be devoted employees of the J. L. Davis Electrical Contractors.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Locust Grove Baptist Church Youth Group, 6128 N KY 11, Girdler, KY 40943 in his memory.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
