Mr. Joe Saylor, 66, of Pigeon Roost, passed away Sunday evening, June 8, 2025 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was born February 19, 1959 at Beverly, the son of the late Gilbert and Maudie Caudill Saylor.
Joe was a former Knox County school bus driver and a member of the Pigeon Roost Holiness Church. He enjoyed farming, caring for his animals, coon hunting and fishing. Joe dearly loved his family, spending time with his grandchildren and having family gatherings.
On March 25, 1981, he united in marriage with Barbara Brummett in Bell County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Saylor.
Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Saylor; children, Gilbert Saylor and wife, Chassidy, and Maudie Jo Saylor; sisters, Nancy Honeycutt and husband, Lee, and Hallie Gray and husband, Roger; treasured grandchildren, Britney, Brianna and Braxton Saylor, Addison Smith, Drew Mathis, Jordan Helton and Kendra and Sophia Mills; his first great grandchild, Genesis Helton, expected in July; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, June 14 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Larry Joe Sizemore, Rev. A. B. Smallwood and Bro. Clifford Slaven officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Saylor Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Gilbert Saylor, Braxton Saylor, A. B. Smallwood Jr., Drew Mathis, Jordan Helton, Roger Gray and Lester Grubb.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Saturday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
