Juanita Faye Messer Barnett, age 52, of Lily, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at her residence. Juanita was born on November 30, 1972, in Palatka, Florida to the late Wesley Messer and Geneva Bolton. She served several years as a bus monitor for the Knox County School System.
In addition to her father, Juanita is also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Robert Combs.
Survivors include her mother, Geneva Bolton Dugger and husband Darrell. 2 children, Hope and Skyler Barnett. 1 grandson, Damion Skylar Barnett. 2 sisters, Debbie Adams and husband Ken and Peggy Combs. 1 brother-in-law, Ronnie Carnes. 6 nieces and nephews, Randy, Jon, Kirsten, Samson, Lilly, and Aaron. Along with 2 special friends, Georgie Baker and Jody Disney.
Funeral services for Juanita Faye Messer Barnett will be conducted on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Barbourville Funeral home. Brother Paul Hinkle and Brother Andy Miller will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Garland Cemetery in Gray, Kentucky. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Ronnie and Randy Carnes, Samson and Ken Adams, Billy Willis, and Nathan Horn.
The family requests in lieu of flowers donation be made to her memorial fund care of Barbourville Funeral Home.
