Obituary for Louis Boggs, Jr. (1943-2024)

 Louis Boggs Jr. age 81 of Partridge, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at his home with family by his side. Jr. was born on January 13, 1943, in Leslie County, and was a beloved Husband, Father, Papaw, Brother, Uncle and friend to many. Louis grew up in Big Laurel, Kentucky wading in the creek catching crawdads, fishing, and learning how to garden. He moved to Detroit, Michigan at a young age and worked for General Motors. While on a visit to Kentucky in 1962, he met Patsy, and they were married on October 1, 1963. After a short time in Detroit, he and Patsy moved back to Whitesburg, Kentucky. Where he worked in the coal mines. Louis moved to Partridge in the 70s. He was always readily available to lend a helping hand to his neighbors and family. He had a strong faith in the Lord, gave his life to the Lord when he was in his 30s. He enjoyed working for the Lord, visiting, and praying for the sick, working inside the churches doing carpentry work. Louis also enjoyed time in the mountains ginsenging, working with his bees, gardening, woodworking, working in the building fixing things, and spending time with his family.

     He is preceded in death by his parents Louis Boggs and Elizabeth Ann Hall, two sons Larry Timothy Boggs, William Keith Boggs, sister Judy Steele, brother Myrl Hall, grandmother that raised him Stacie Ellen Boggs.

     Left behind to mourn his passing, his wife Patsy Carol Boggs, granddaughter April Amy Boggs, daughter-n-law Loretta Boggs, five siblings Bobby Boggs and wife Pauline, Brent Boggs and wife Kay, Jimmy Hall and wife Pam,  Bobbie Reynolds and husband Danny, Earlene Johnson, special nieces Patty Jane Howard, Heather Dixon, special nephews Randy Caudill, Jonathan Hall. He also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

     Funeral services for Louis Boggs Jr. will be conducted on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Lewis Creek Pentecostal Church with Rev. Ronnie Oplinger and Rev. Bobby Boggs officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Green Acres Cemetery at Whitesburg, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

     Friends will be received at the church on Friday, from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
