Marjorie “Margie” Mays Haire, 86, of Poplar Creek, Kentucky, passed away on September 11, 2026. Born on August 25, 1940, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, Margie devoted her life to her family. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved working with flowers and tending her garden. She was of Baptist faith and a member of Mossy Gap Baptist Church. Above all, she cherished her family and was their constant caregiver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Will and Florence McCreary Mays; her daughter, Terry Randles; and her brothers and sisters, Ruby Earls, J.C. Mays, Gracie Mays, Arnold Mays, Charles Mays, Howard Mays, Herbert Mays, Dorothy Mays, Ray Mays, and Franklin Mays.
Margie is survived by her daughter, Karyn Hill, and husband, Walter; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; Joshua Wilson and wife Nicole of Williamsburg, KY, Kevin Jones and wife Stephanie of Corbin, KY , Stefani Gilbert and husband Dalton of Crestview, FL., Joel Randles and wife Jessica of Corbin, KY, and Lanaya Hill of Williamsburg, KY. Margie was blessed with nine great-grandchildren, Jerimiah Wilson, Dakota Jones, Kyley Jones, Kaylen Jones, Hunter Jones, Arianna Randles, Xander Bennett, Kinzlee Randles and Kyndal Randles and two great-great-grandchildren, Jericho Wilson and Levi Wilson. Each one held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Marjorie’s life was a testament to enduring love and resilience. Her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with, as well as those she reached but never met.
