Mr. Kevionte’ Coron LaShun Turner, lovingly known as Tay Tay, 24, of Barbourville, passed away Thursday morning, December 25, 2025 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital. He was born January 22, 2001 in Barbourville, the son of Melissa Ann Lacefield Roberts and the late Kevin LaShun Turner.
Tay Tay was an employee of KFC and Taco Bell and a member of the St. Paul Baptist Church. He was known for his contagious, illuminating smile—one that could instantly brighten anyone’s day. A proud graduate of Knox Central High School and attended Union Commonwealth University, Tay Tay was highly intelligent, with a natural ability to absorb information and excel both academically and athletically.
He had a deep love for sports and enjoyed playing basketball, football and baseball. In his free time, he could often be found playing on his PlayStation or spending time with his beloved pitbull, Zeus. Above all, Tay Tay was known for his kindness and respect for others. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tilmus Jackson, Corrine Turner and Eva Lacefield and an uncle, Allen Messer.
Survivors include his loving mother, Melissa Roberts and husband, Tim, of Barbourville; siblings, Markelle Turner and fiancé, Alexis Simpson of London, JeVonte’ Turner, Kevin “KT” Turner II, Kayden Stokes, Penelope Dixon and Jameson Roberts all of Barbourville; several aunts and uncles; special cousins; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, January 2, 2026 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Charles Tinsley officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Markelle Turner, JeVonte’ Turner, Kevin Turner II, Reed Baker, Chandler Baker, Patrick Dollar, Josh Lacefield and Tim Roberts. Honorary bearers will be Kayden Stokes, Jameson Roberts and Owen Scott.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
