Mrs. Nora Ann King, 73, of Smokey, passed away Thursday evening, May 22, 2025 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital. She was born August 17, 1951 in Knox County, the daughter of the late Frank and Ardania Broughton Mills.
Nora was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church. She enjoyed yard selling, fishing and cooking for family and friends. She treasured the time spent with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Frances “Cookie” Simpson and Patsy Williams and a brother, Randall Mills.
Survivors include her loving husband, John Wayne King Sr. of Smokey; children, Debbie King Gray, John “Ballie” King Jr. and wife, Tammy, Gary Wayne King and wife, Janice, and Michael “Hoot” King and fiancé, Connie, all of Barbourville; a brother, Ronnie Mills and Darlene of Heidrick; grandchildren, Tia Hobbs, Tiffany King, Keista Gray, Gary “Booke” King, Felisha Gray, Dakota and Clayton King, Jared and Noah King, Makenzee “Sally” Gray, John Curtis “Bub” Gray, Devan King and Savannah Lay; great grandchildren, Riley, Maddie, Grayson, Brayden, Jordan, Jaythan, Nora, Opal, Blakelee and Laklynn; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, May 30 at 2 P.M. with Bro. Aaron Gray and Bro. Donnie Broughton officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Tanyard Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Cody King, Gary King Jr., Devan King, Benny Sizemore, Jason Gray and Tommy Howard. Honorary bearers will be Michael Broughton and Pernell Napier.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Friday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
