Mrs. Patricia Ann Mills, 88, of Artemus, the widow of Columbus Mills Jr., passed away Tuesday morning, September 2, 2025 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital. She was born May 12, 1937 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Earl and Beulah Vernettie Hayes Walters.
Pat was a former LPN and a member of the Artemus Christian Church. She enjoyed baking and owned the former What’s for Dessert, cooking and traveling. Pat delighted her family and friends with her homemade cheesecakes and chocolate ship cookies.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Brian Scott Mills and Mark Steven Mills and a sister, Betty Garland.
Survivors include her loving children, David Chris Mills Sr., Dennis Ray Mills and Sandra Ann Elswick all of Artemus; a sister, Billie Ferguson and husband, Toy, of Barbourville; grandchildren, Melinda Hubbs, David Chris Mills, Jessi Mills, Patricia Dugger, Ashley Nicole Mills, Brittney Ann Watson, Casey Danielle Elswick, Jordan Mark Elswick and Anderson Todd Elswick; a host of great grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, September 7 at 2 P.M. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Anderson Elswick, Jordan Elswick, Brian Nelson, Doug Taylor, Jared Ferguson and Chad Ferguson.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
