Mrs. Peggie D. Warren, 88, of Barbourville, passed away Sunday evening, June 8, 2025 at the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 10, 1936 in Russellville, AL, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Lillian Moline Dunn.
Peggie was a former seamstress with Warner’s and a member of the Beacon Baptist Church. She treasured time reading her Bible and attending church. She also loved sewing, gardening and growing beautiful flowers, especially roses.
On June 5, 1954, she united in marriage with Homer Warren in Detroit, MI and this union was blessed with the birth of three children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Warren; daughters, Patricia Warren and Brenda McKeehan and sisters, Frances Boles, Barbara Larive and Dorothy Dunn.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Linda Johnson and husband, Jerry; son-in-law, David McKeehan; grandchildren, Kristen Bowling and husband, Chris, Jerry Brian Johnson and wife, Diamond, Lisa Lindsay and husband, Dave, and Malena Beth Jones and husband, Chris; great grandchildren, Eli Bowling, Avery Kate Bowling, Keyra Johnson, Mia Johnson, Kaci Hensley, Jonathan Hensley, Kylee Hensley, Brittany Foley and husband, Clinton, Jacob Lindsay, Weston Lindsay and Hayden, Harrison and Holden Jones; great-great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Emma Kay, Reid and Kade Foley and Oakleigh Jordan; among other loved ones and dear friends.
A graveside service will be held in the Barbourville Cemetery Thursday, June 12 at 4:30 P.M. with Rev. Dennis Chesnut officiating.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Family and friends will gather at the cemetery prior to the service time.
The family requests that memorial gifts go to the Beacon Baptist Church at P. O. Box 122, Bimble, KY 40915, in Peggie’s memory.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
