Mr. Ronnie E. McVey, 72, of Bryants Store, passed away Tuesday morning, November 21, 2023 at his home. He was the son of the late James and Cleo Hinkle McVey born on February 6, 1951 in Knox County.
Ronnie was a former surface mining blaster and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his family.
On June 3, 1976, he united in marriage with Janice Sue Miller and to this union four children were born.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and David McVey.
Survivors include his loving wife, Janice Sue McVey; children, Randy McVey and wife, Carol, Anna McVey, Amanda Jackson and husband, Mikie, and Randall McVey and wife, Pam; sisters, Judy Reynolds, Brenda Hart, Sharlene Reef, Vicki Teague, Sheila Cole and husband, Lloyd, Bonnie Smith and Geraldine Fields; treasured grandchildren, Devon McVey and wife, Shyann, Nicole, Cody and Sarah Jackson, Taylor, Tanner and Gavin McVey; great grandchildren, Lusie Mills and Addison Jackson; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, November 27 at 2 P.M. with Rev. E. C. Fields and Rev. James Isom officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Wells Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Randy McVey, Randall McVey, James Miller, John Miller, Marshall Fields and Mark Fields.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Monday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
