Mr. Roy Michael Stamper, 45, of Barbourville, passed away Wednesday morning, June 4, 2025 at his home. He was born August 20, 1979 in Pineville, the son of Roy Stamper and Diane Brooks.
Roy was an electrician and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. He was also an ordained minister and former Artemus Volunteer Fire Fighter. Roy enjoyed being out of doors fishing, hunting, four-wheeling and mudding. He also loved tinkering. Roy cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandson.
He was preceded in death by a beloved sister, Christie Smith; grandparents, Doyle and Alma Brooks and Minnie Sue Stamper; brother-in-law, Donnie Smith and father-in-law, William Senters.
Survivors include his loving wife, Redena Stamper of Barbourville; parents, Roy Stamper and Diane Brooks; grandfather, William Stamper; children, Dustin Deaton and fiancé, Kimberly Turpin, Mikyla Sutherland and husband, Tyler, Mallory Stamper, Maegan Stamper and fiancé, Ethan McCoy, Graysen Stamper and Lila Samper all of Barbourville; a treasured grandson, Maverick William Robert Deaton; a brother of the heart, Robert Logan; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted at the Little Poplar Creek Baptist Church Sunday, June 8 at 2 P.M. with Rev. James Hubbs and Rev. Sam Buchanan officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Gray Family Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Robert Logan, Brett Frederick, Ethan McCoy, Tyler Southerland, Zac Smith, Roy Senters, Mike Cobb and David Messer.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Sunday at the church after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
