Mrs. Samantha Dozier Messer, 51, of Barbourville, entered into the presence of her Savior Friday morning, July 10, 2026 at her home surrounded by her beloved family. She was born May 30, 1975 in Pineville, the daughter of Kathy M. Dozier and the late Dennis M. Dozier.
She was a manager of convenient stores for Spur Oil and a member of the East Barbourville Baptist Church. Samantha was a devoted wife and mother, who faithfully followed the Lord. Her life was not defined by one moment; she lived life to the fullest. She found great joy in Disney trips, family vacations, lake life, NASCAR and UK basketball. Above all, she cherished time spent with family and friends, who brought great meaning and happiness to her life.
On December 1, 2007, she united in marriage with Ronnie G. Messer Jr. and to this union two children were born.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by grandparents, Gus and Laura Dozier; great-great aunt, who was like a grandmother to her, Artie Williams; aunt, Debbie Perry; parents-in-law, James and Donna Faye York and cousins, Eric Wayne Dozier and Stephen Daniel Trosper II.
Survivors include her loving husband, Ronnie G. Messer Jr. of Barbourville; children, Chloe Marie Messer and fiancé, Matthew Warren, and Ronnie Jace “R. J.” Messer all of Barbourville; mother, Kathy Dozier of Barbourville; sister, Angela Brock and husband, Stephen, of Barbourville; brother, Jonathan Dozier and wife, Brooke, of London; father-in-law, Ronnie Messer, Jennifer Baker of Barbourville; sisters-in-law, Rhonda Messer and fiancé, Dominic Valentine, of Flat Lick, Patty Messer and Janie Swords and husband, Vernon, all of Barbourville; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and friends who loved her dearly.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, July 16 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Josh K. Smith and Bro. Stephen Brock officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Winston Tye, Richard Tye, Charles Tye, Taten Brock, Teagan Brock, Matthew Warren, Jacob Rose and Trevin Brock. Honorary bearers will be Dr. Ashburn, Dr. West, Tennessee Cancer Specialist, Knox EMS, Steve Warren, Mike Taylor, the staff of Barbourville ARH and the staff of Holly Bay Marina.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Thursday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
