Mr. Stanley K. Peace, 71, of Artemus, passed away Thursday morning, June 18, 2026 at his home. He was born November 25, 1954 in Knox County, the son of the late George Peace Jr. and Norma Logan Peace.
Stanley was a barber and a member of the Little Poplar Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing, being out of doors and hunting.
On November 15, 1997, he united in marriage with Carolyn “Violet” Hurst Dunaway.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brandon Michael Peace and a sister-in-law, Roelene Peace.
Survivors include his loving wife, Violet Peace of Artemus; children, Donald Dunaway and wife, Heather, of Erlanger, Robert Dunaway and wife, Selina, of Artemus, Jessica Hall and husband, Jeremy, of Somerset, Stanton Peace of Pine Knot and Anna Peace of Manchester; a sister, Delores Cecil and husband, Barry, of Trosper; a brother, Michael Peace of Bimble; cherished grandchildren, Kiersten Dunaway, Kylie Dunaway, Alyssa Mullins, Bella Peace, Branton Brown, Beckham Brown, Gabe Urgelles, Kayson Peace, Landon Peace, Whitaker, Wallace and Hadley Hall; great grandchildren, Rhaenyra and Branlin; an uncle, James Peace and wife, Earlene, of Holmes Mill; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, June 21 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Ronnie Rose and Rev. Dale Phipps officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Tinsley Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Mike Rice, Donnie Lawson, Ralph Smith, Branton Brown, Mike Wells, Mike Baker, Robert Mills and Robert Dunaway. Honorary bearers will be Ancil Hall, Coach Raymond Troutman, Clyde Burchett, Paul Baker, Leroy Nelson, George “Doc” Brock, George Brock, James Miller, Donald Dunaway, Harry Mays, Ricky Blair and David Messer.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Sunday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
