Steven Earl Stewart, age 35 of Dewitt, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 in the Hazard ARH Hospital. He was the son of Earl and Retha (Murphy) Stewart born to them on February 19, 1991 in Lexington, Kentucky.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one uncle, Charles Murphy.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his aunts and uncles, Reed Murphy and wife Sharon of Barbourville, Finley Murphy and wife Brenda of Corbin, Odie Mae Goldsworthy of Girdler, Lucy Ann Messer of London, Oak Stewart and Larry Stewart, both of Girdler. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Stewart will be conducted in the Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Bargo and Rev. Mike Collins officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Murphy Cemetery on Brice’s Creek. Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
