Teddy Vernon Woolum, age 73 of Girdler was born in Knox County, KY on January 13, 1951 to the late Henry Carl and Mary Francis Brown Woolum and departed this life on January 19, 2024 in Girdler. He was a member of Mount Ararat Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, being outside, playing cards, and time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, 2 sons: Teddy Dewayne Woolum and Ronald Lee Woolum; 4 brothers: Johnny Woolum, Jimmy Woolum, Charles Woolum, and Wayne Woolum; 7 sisters: Mary Ann Woolum Baker, Maggie Woolum Cox, Ina Woolum Brown, Jackie Woolum Hampton, Rosie Woolum Dalton, Wanda Woolum, and Glenda Sue Woolum preceded her in death.
Teddy is survived by his loving wife: Lovella Liford Woolum of Barbourville; a son: Tim Woolum of Harrogate, TN; 5 brothers: Dale Woolum of Lexington, Henry Woolum of Paducah, KY, Allen Woolum and wife Thelma of Richmond, KY, Michael Woolum and wife Teresa of Bimble, and Don Woolum of Girdler; 3 sisters: Peggy Woolum Gray of Barbourville, Jannett Woolum Welch of Portersville, KY, and Charlotte Woolum Smith and husband Finley of Knox County, KY; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one on the way; other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Teddy Woolum will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Roger Liford and Rev. Columbus Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in the Final Rest Cemetery with Grandsons, Nephews, and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Barbourville Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM and Wednesday from 10 AM to the funeral hour at 2.
