Tye Hamblin, age 19 of Corbin, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at the Saint Joseph London Hospital. He was born July 7, 2005 in Corbin, KY, to Rodney Hamblin and Tara Jones Prewitt. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Phyllis Jones.
Tye graduated from Whitley County High School in May 2024, and then attended the Kentucky Welding Institute where he became a certified welder in March of 2025.
He is survived by his mother, Tara Prewitt (Jeff) of Corbin, KY, father, Rodney Hamblin (Kristie) of Rockholds, KY, sister, Emily Hamblin of Corbin, KY, brothers, Logan Prewitt of Corbin, KY, Bryson Lawson (Kenzie) of Williamsburg, KY, grandparents, Dean and Tammy Prewitt of Williamsburg, KY, Jim Jones of Corbin, KY, Dennie Hamblin (Judy) of Williamsburg, KY, nephew, Asher Lawson of Williamsburg, KY, aunt, Shea Lawson (Shawn) of Corbin, KY, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis Baker officiating. Interment will be in the Youngs Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5:00-9:00 PM Friday, May 9, 2025 at the Whitley County Middle School gym.
