Mrs. Vickie Lynn Phipps Moore, 61, of Gray, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 5, 2024 at Baptist Health Corbin. She was born September 11, 1962 in Barbourville to Arthur Codell Phipps and the late Loretta Dunn.
Vickie was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church and graduated from Knox Central High School in 1980. She was an outgoing person with an amazing heart, who befriended everyone. Even in death, Vickie continued to give, as she was a registered organ donor and was able to donate her kidneys. She will be remembered most for the love she had for her family, especially her grandchildren.
On December 23, 1988, she united in marriage with Charles “Chuck” Moore.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Raymond Moore; grandparents, Commie and Mattie Dunn and A. L. and Kathleen Phipps and a brother-in-law, Randy Terrell.
Survivors include her loving husband, Chuck Moore; children, Ashley Engle and husband, Dwayne, Ryan Moore and wife, Brooke, and Adam Moore; grandchildren she adored, Tyrus and Alyssa Engle and Riley Moore; father, Codell Phipps and wife, Pat; mother-in-law, Josephine Moore; siblings, Rev. Tim Phipps and wife, Gail, Rev. Dale Phipps and wife, Jennifer, Donnie Phipps and wife, Pam, and Kim Terrell; a brother-in-law, Raymond Moore and wife, Patricia; a close aunt, Kathi Baker and husband, Keith, and several nieces and nephews. Vickie will be dearly missed by her extended family and friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, May 9 at 8 P.M. with Rev. Tim Phipps, Rev. Dale Phipps and Rev. Daniel Terrell officiating.
Honorary bearers will be the staff of Baptist Health Corbin CCU and Dr. William Cagle.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday after 6 P.M. until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
