Mr. William Jerry “Billy” Smith, 57, of Corbin, passed away Saturday afternoon, February 10, 2024 in Corbin. He was the son of Ethel Hammons Smith and the late William Smith born on December 8, 1966 in Westland, MI.
Billy was an employee of Coca-Cola and a member of the Pinkney Baptist Church. He enjoyed listening to rock and roll music, collecting guitars, fishing, camping and was the “king” of dad jokes.
Survivors include his children, Amanda Smith and fiancé, Josh Valdes, and William Matthew Smith all of Nashville, TN; his mother, Ethel Hammons Smith; three sisters, Peggy Smith of Girdler, Debbie Mills of Corbin and Donna Hanson of Kennesaw, GA; a brother, Michael Smith of Jasper, GA; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, February 15 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Darrell Warren and Merrill Smith officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Hammons Cemetery Green Road.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
