William “Taylor” Thomas, age 69 of Woodbine, KY was born in Knox County, KY on January 30, 1956 to the late Rosevelt Thomas and Betty Turner Thomas and departed this life on Saturday, May 24, 2025 in the Baptist Health of Corbin Hospital. He was of the Holiness Faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, trading, and time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, 7 brothers: Roy Lee Thomas, Carson Thomas, Earl Ray Thomas, Noah Gene Thomas, L D Thomas and wife Katherine, S. R. Thomas and wife Hazel, and Elmer Thomas; 3 sisters: Eula Mae Brown and husband Ed, Lula Belle Storms and husband Donnie, and Janice Vanover; a grandchild: Cody Fultz; grandparents: McClellan Thomas and Cordella Hensley, and Nathan and Sarah Sheperd Turner; father and mother in law: Charlie and Mattie Dean; 3 nieces: Rena Mills, Betty Faye Thomas, and Birdie Ann Brown; and 3 nephews: Danny Sharp, Billy Ray Thomas, and Shawn Logan preceded him in death.
Taylor is survived by his loving wife of over 38 years: Margaret Thomas of Woodbine; a son: David Jackson and wife Rachael of Gray; a daughter: Nancy Thomas and husband Fred of Hinkle; 2 brothers: James Thomas and wife Donna of Barbourville, and Troy Thomas and wife Kathy of Woodbine; 6 grandchildren: Savannah Smith and husband Justin, Hallie Davidson, Parris Jackson, Adryanna Jackson, Chaz Jackson, and Ashlin Jackson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. William Taylor Thomas will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Friday May 30, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Wyatt and Rev. Rick Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery with Charlie Dye, Mikey Hubbard, Bub Hubbard, Chaz Jackson, Harold Vanover, and David Hall serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Barbourville Funeral Home on Thursday Evening from 6 to 9 p.m., and Friday from 10 a.m. to the funeral hour at 2.
