Mr. Denver Deaton age 86 of Cannon, Kentucky passed away on Friday evening, March 20, 2026 at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky
He was the devoted husband of Mary Ellen Deaton, with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a large and loving family that was the center of his life.
He is survived by his nine children: Gary Deaton and wife Tammy, Terry Deaton and wife Carol, Jerry Deaton and wife Michelle, Tammy May and husband Tim, Dennis Deaton and wife Betty, Kenneth Deaton and wife Jaime, Ronnie Deaton and wife Jennifer, Charlie Deaton and wife Kim, and Jamie Deaton.
He also leaves behind a large and cherished group of grandchildren: Elizabeth Mills, Victoria Stewart, Tiffany Shephard, Jonathan Shepherd, Braxton Deaton, Blake Deaton, Jake Ketcham, Justin May, Jared May, Erin Winkler, Allie Shephard, Lou Lawson, Kim Campbell, Tonya King, Ronnie Deaton, Dylan Deaton, Madison Deaton, Aubrey Deaton, Justin Deaton, Anthony Deaton, Matthew Deaton, Brody Deaton, Miranda Deaton, Trevor Deaton, and Patrick Deaton.
His legacy continues through his many great-grandchildren: Lola, Ethan, Landon, J. Ezra, Brooklyn, Regina, Cayden, Parker, Lily, Addilyn, Kaylee, Whitley, Conner, Vernetta, Dennis, Willie, Leland, Liver, Graham, Lilan Gene, Cooter, Luke, Addy, Paisley, Eli, Brayden, Hunter, Tanner, Oakley, Coleson, Presley, and Penelope.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Deaton and Millie Deaton; his siblings, Flossie Smith, Ernest Deaton, Jim Deaton, Betty Epperson, Virgil Deaton, Ike Merida; and two infant sisters.
Mr. Deaton was a faithful member of Locust Grove Baptist Church in Girdler, Kentucky.
Denver found joy in the simple things in life. He loved tending to his garden each year and loved his Trophy tobacco. He and his wife Mary enjoyed spending time together going to yard sales. He had a fondness for pocket knives and could often be found tinkering on cars, especially alongside his grandchildren. One of his favorite pastimes was sitting on his swing, watching the world go by and enjoying the presence of family and neighbors.
Funeral Services for Mr. Denver Deaton will be conducted on Wednesday March 25th 12:00 Noon in the Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Barnard officiating. Burial will follow in Cannon Ky.
Visitation will be held on Tuesdsay March 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 in the Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home Chapel.
