Barbourville, Ky. – Elsie S. Campbell of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on July 29, 2026, at the age of 91.
Elsie was born to Tip and Dora Scalf on November 3, 1934 in Artemus, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents Dora and Tip Scalf, sisters Edna, Mary, Vivian, Beulah, and her husband George Campbell.
Elsie is survived by her three children, Randy Campbell, Larry Campbell, and Kimberly Tronzo as well as her many grand, great- grand, and great-great-grandchildren.
Elsie was the definition of selfless, loving, and hardworking. She was known to make a meal too big and offer a helping hand whenever she could.
Gratitude is extended to hospice and her caregivers Ashley White, Candace Kidd and Makayla Logue.
A visitation for Elsie will take place at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway, Shepherdsville, Kentucky, 40165) on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, there will be a second visitation at 11:00 am at Hopper Funeral Home (302 North Broadway, Barbourville, Kentucky, 40906) followed by Elsie’s funeral service at 1:00 PM. Reverend James “Jim Bo” McDonald will officiate the funeral service. Interment will be at Barbourville Cemetery. Casket Bearers are: Daniel Tronzo, Jon White, Bennett White, Trevor Campbell, Christopher Cureton, and Thomas Wells-Logue.
