Mrs. Helen Joy Bryant, 91, of Barbourville, passed away Saturday evening, August 1, 2026 at the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 19, 1935 in Barbourville, the daughter of the late George and Hazel Smith Warfield.
Helen was a homemaker and a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Cedartown, GA. She loved decorating, planting flowers in the summer, singing, spending time with her family and most enjoyed praising the Lord.
On October 23, 1957 she united in marriage with Roy Bryant Sr., who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, James and Wayne Warfield, Lois Faye Mowell and Bettie Laudenslager; a great-grandson, Carson Allen Davis and daughter-in-law, Nancy Marie Hampton Bryant.
Survivors include her loving children, Billie Maiden of Corbin, Roy Bryant Jr., Kellie Poole and John Bryant all of Barbourville; sisters, Phyllis Cobb of Barbourville and Debbie Grubb and husband, Edward, of Artemus; brothers, Charles Warfield and wife, Pamela, of Artemus and Darel Warfield and wife, Connie, of Artemus; cherished grandchildren, Andy Davis and wife, Fran, Mark Davis and wife, Candice, Ashley Collette and husband, John, Krystin Parker and husband, Robert, Cody Poole, Astynn Poole and Autumn Bryant; great grandchildren, Abigail, Seth, Katelyn, Madison and Lawson Davis, Aslinn Cromer, Cooper Simms, Greenlee and Bannon Collette and Brody and Mia Poole; a great-great granddaughter, Paisley Jane; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, August 6 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Tim Hamilton and Rev. Russell Jones officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Bryant Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
