Mr. James A. Carter, 75, of Swan Lake, passed away Monday evening, November 2, 2026 at his home. He was born April 24, 1951 in Knox County, the son of the late Steeley and Bulah Mae Rapier Carter.
James lived a life of solitude and enjoyed farming and smoking his pipe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several siblings.
Survivors include a sister, Cleda Faye Henson of Corbin; several nieces and nephews, including Earnest Lee Carter and wife, Rebecca, of London; among other loved ones and dear friends.
There will be no public services and he will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
