Obituary for Larry Hammons (1952-2026)

Mr. Larry Hammons age 74 of Cannon, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday morning April 15, 2026, at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky.

Larry was born in Woolum, Kentucky, on February 26, 1952, to the late Lloyd and Stacy Hammons. He was a member and Deacon of Parkway Baptist Church.

Larry was preceded in by two brothers, Elmer and Earl Hammons, three sisters, Marie Root, Nettie Smith and Mary Tuttle, and a great grandson, Christopher John Robinson.

Larry was the husband of Judy Carol Hammons and they shared 56 years of marriage together. He is survived by his four children Larry (Mickey) John Hammons and fiancé Vonda, Laura Vaughn and husband Jerry, Shawn Lee Hammons and friend Kristy, and Landon James Hammons, grandchildren, Randy Harrison, Laura Joyce Hammons, Larry Tyler Hammons, and Hayle Trent, great grandchildren, Addyson Harrison, Brookyln Harrison, Nevaeh Robinson, Bentley Carr, Levi Yother, Jordan Smith, Joseph Smith, and many nieces and nephews, and friends to miss him and morn his passing.

Funeral services for Larry will be conducted at the Parkway Baptist Church on Sunday, April 19th, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. Rev. Tommy Frazier and Rev. Tim Phipps will be officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Hammons Family Cemetery in Cannon. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at 3:00 P.M.

Pallbearers will be Samuel Smith, Jeremy Bargo, Randy Harrison, Larry Tyler Hammons, James Dunn and Jr. Patrick Morgan. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Brotherhood of Parkway Baptist Church, Dr. Raju Vora, James (Hoss) Hoskins, James Hensley, Timmy Winnes and all nephews.
