Mr. Timothy Smith, 72, of Callebs Creek, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026 at his home. He was born December 14, 1953 in Detroit, MI, the son of the late Ernest and Ethel Smith.
Tim was an independent contractor and a member of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church. He was a gifted musician who loving singing at church, writing gospel songs and playing with a band. He loved nature, being snowed in, being out of doors riding four-wheelers and growing a garden. Tim most loved spending time with his family. Tim faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was known to be a hard worker, generous, positive and having a great sense of humor.
He united in marriage with Susan Hardwick and to this union a son was born. Later, he united in marriage with Trudy King and three children blessed this union.
Survivors include his loving children, Lucas Timothy Smith of Callebs Creek, Timothy Wayne Smith of Corbin, Phillip Nicholas Smith of Artemus and Hayley Alaina Renee Smith of Cincinnati, OH; three sisters, Lisa Smith Mattox and husband, Robert, of Lexington, Karen Smith and husband, Mike, of Bardstown and Jessica Daniels Epperson and husband, Dustin, of London; three grandchildren; among other family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, April 16 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Herman Mills and Rev. Roger Liford officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Callebs Creek Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
