Winners of two in a row, and five of their last six, the Lynn Camp Lady Cats are headed to the beach for spring break with a lot of momentum and confidence on their side.

Lynn Camp, which swept a double-header from Wayne County on Friday, boarded a bus on Sunday morning with the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as the destination. The Lady Cats are scheduled to play four games during the road trip, beginning Monday, April 1, at 9 a.m.

Lynn Camp currently sits near the top of the 13th Region standings with an overall record of 6-2. Only Clay County is higher with an undefeated 6-0 mark.

The Lady Cats are also 2-1 against 13th Region opponents and perfect at 2-0 versus 51st District rivals.

Lynn Camp, which was the first team in the 13th Region to reach 100 runs scored, currently leads the region with 105 (13 per game). Clay Co. is next with 74 (12 per game), while Middlesboro comes in with 70 (11 per game).

Gabby Carollo eyes the ball during a recent at bat. The right fielder had a home run in a game this week, the first of the season for the Lady Cats. She’s also made multiple game-changing catches defensively.
