April Dawn Gray, 46, of Gray, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at ContinueCare Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky. Born April 14, 1980, she was the daughter of the late Charles Mitchell, III, and Terry Ann Mitchell who survives.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Arthur Stewart; her paternal grandparents, Charles Mitchell, Jr., and Martha Mitchell; and her uncle, Arthur Stewart, Jr.
April leaves behind her two sons, Tyler Gray and girlfriend Cassandra Huskey, and Ethan Allen Sams and girlfriend Taylor Faith Napier; her mother, Terry Mitchell; brother, Stuart Mitchell and wife Charlisa; brother, Charles Mitchell, IV; grandmother, Elizabeth Marie Stewart; her boyfriend of 18 years, David Alsip; three nephews: Cameron Mitchell, Landon Mitchell, and Seth Mitchell; and niece, Sassie Mitchell. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
April loved her family. She also enjoyed writing, butterflies, baseball games, and listening to music.
April was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 24, 2026, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Wayne Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 – 2:00 P.M. Monday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
