Barbourville, Ky. – Arthur Curtis Branum, 79, of Rockholds, Kentucky passed away, Monday, August 17, 2026.
Arthur was born in Bryants Store, Kentucky to Elam Branum and Hazel McCoy Branum on March 28, 1947. Arthur united in marriage to Bettye Lou Waligorski and to this union three children were born: Tim Michael Branum, Arthur Curtis Branum, Jr. and Carla Renee Branum Hale.
Arthur was known to be a simple man who had a love for music and for any outdoor activity in which he participated. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, visiting with his neighbors and growing a garden to feed his family. He also enjoyed fox hunting with his friends and family. He loved his children and grandchildren tremendously. Arthur will be dearly missed by his beloved family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Elam Branum and Hazel McCoy Branum, Arthur was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Bettye Lou Waligorski Branum, his granddaughter Victoria Branum, and brothers E.J. Branum and Alfred Branum.
Left behind to mourn his passing, are his daughter Carla Renee Hale and her husband, Paul, his sons Tim Michael Branum and his wife Amy, and Arthur Curtis Branum, Jr. and his wife Melinda, sisters Lueva Sears and Barbara Sue Kreitzer, and cherished grandchildren Madison, Olivia, Victor, Brittany and Sean.
The Branum family will receive friends at Hopper Funeral Home, Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM. Reverend Brandon Dunn will officiate, accompanied by Jeffrey Branum. Musical tributes will be performed by Sounds of Faith. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Branum Family Cemetery, Rockholds, Knox County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers are family and friends.
