Brenda Laws, age 65 of Barbourville, KY, went peacefully home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 26, 2026 after a lengthy illness. Brenda leaves behind those who brought her the greatest joy and of whom she was most proud, her children, Dallas Laws (Tonya), Tracy Laws and Kim Laws (David), along with her grandchildren, Cody, Payton and Madison. Brenda is also survived by her sister, Carol Taylor (Jerry) ; her brother, David Cox (Kristi); her half-brother, Edward Cox; her special cousin, Tammy Taylor; and special friends, Lisa Price and Tammie Rogers; a host of nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, Ivy and Brady. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Georgia (Shelton) Cox; her granddaughter, Kristina Laws; and her boyfriend, Doug Benge.
Brenda attended Scalf Chapel where she loved to spend time with her faith family and serving others. Her favorite things were butterflies, to be outodoor any chance she had, and shopping. Brenda lived life to its fullest. Love is the emotional anchor to a life well-lived, and she loved deeply and completely. She had a tender heart and was a true and loyal friend. If Brenda loved you, she made sure you knew it.
Brenda’s family and friends will pay tribute to her on Thursday, October 29th, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home, 2809 South US Hwy. 25E Barbourville, KY 40906. Rev. Buster Liford will officiate. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
