Paul Cupp, 94½, of Barbourville, Kentucky, departed this life on October 26, 2026, in Barbourville. Born February 21, 1932, in Harlan, Kentucky, Paul was the baby of 20 siblings. He lived a long life filled with faith, hard work, and love for the people he held dear.
Paul retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years and dedicated 10 years of service to the Appalachian Children’s Home. He found joy in spending time with his friends, attending church, and keeping his yard beautifully manicured. His faith was a steady part of his life, and he prayed every day, keeping those he loved close to his heart and in his prayers. His church and the relationships he built throughout his life held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Paulette Villarreal; his granddaughter, Sherri Aina; and his close friend, James Tomaw.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 44 years, Marlene Cupp of Barbourville, Kentucky; his daughter, Rhonda Colver and her husband, Mike, of Ohio; his Kentucky daughter, Tammy Tomaw; and his special girls, Amanda Buchanan and Jaimie Tomaw, both of Kentucky.
He also leaves behind his special pastor and family, Sam, Lindsey, and Tucker James “Little Sammy” Lawson of Kentucky; and his sister-in-law, Stella Rugg of Ohio.
His cherished grandchildren include Greg and Karla Lewis, Laura and Frank Whaley, Robin and Travis Arnett, and Karissa “Charlene” Masters, all of Ohio. His great-grandchildren include Jacob and Gavin Lewis of Florida; and Alizah Hughes, Kaden Failor, Christopher Masters, and Krista Masters, all of Ohio.
Paul will also be lovingly remembered by his special caregiver, Carol Smith; his church family; good neighbors; extended family; and many wonderful friends.
Paul’s presence will be deeply missed, but the love, friendship, and memories he shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His long life leaves a lasting reminder of the beauty found in faith, service, and time spent with the people we love.
