Mrs. Brenda Lou King, age 66 of Gray, Kentucky departed this life on Sunday, October 18, 2026 in the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. She was born on March 14, 1960 in Knox County, the daughter of Denver Bailey and Dicy (Shelton) Bailey. On May 31, 1979, she united in marriage with Charles King and to this union, two children were born. She was a member of the Old Time Missionary Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Michael Bailey.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her husband Charles King of Gray, two children, Jennifer Stewart and husband Joseph of Winchester, Kentucky and Stephanie King and significant other, Kenneth Browning of Gray, two sisters, Phyllis Johnson of Dalton, Georgia and Euphemia Lay of Calhoun, Georgia and one brother, Dennis Bailey of Eaton, Georgia, eight grandchildren, Alexandria Thacker and husband Noah of Barbourville, Sean King and wife Mackenzie of Barbourville, Kara Hubbard and husband Kedrin of Winchester, Matthew Wilder of Winchester, Cianna King, Samuel King, Sophie King and Silas King, all of Gray, three great-grandchildren, Josiah Dozier, Karter Hubbard and Bo Michael King. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brenda Lou King will be conducted in the Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 23, 2026 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Don Farmer officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
