Mrs. Cora Lee Berkley, 76, of Barbourville, passed away Monday morning, March 23, 2026 at her home. She was born September 20, 1949 in Barbourville, the daughter of the late Beve and Damie Smith.
Cora was a devoted homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to being an avid UK basketball fan, she also enjoyed listening to the radio including her favorite artist, Jelly Roll. She most treasured time with her family.
On November 15, 1972, she united in marriage with Shirley Dean Berkley, who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Summer Disney and a sister, Rowena Smith.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Crystal Disney and fiancé, Dennis Miller, of Barbourville; bonus grandchildren, Jason and Xander Riley, Jessie Hubbard and Elijah Doleman; special niece, Tammy Tomaw and her daughters, Amanda Buchanan and Jaimie Tomaw; caretaker, Ashley Eversole; among other loved ones and treasured friends who will cherish her memory.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, March 28 at 12 Noon with Rev. Glen Collins and Rev. Pam Reed officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Dennis Miller, Jessie Hubbard, Jason Riley, Xander Riley, Elijah Doleman and Lucas McCarthy.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice of the Bluegrass for their excellent care and support during her illness.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Saturday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
