Ms. Shirley J. West, 76, of Barbourville, passed away Monday morning, April 20, 2026 at the Hazard ARH Hospital. She was born September 1, 1949 in Knox County, the daughter of the late Lee West Jr. and Opal Warren West.
Shirley was a devoted homemaker and a believer in the Baptist faith. She enjoyed traveling to the beach, gardening and sitting on the porch.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Sharon Smith and Carolyn Fannon and a brother, Larry West.
Survivors include her loving children, Lesia Golden and husband, Tony, of Artemus and Dustin Gray and wife, Crystal, of Himyar; sisters, Maggie Seals, Sherry Osborne and Shelia Turner; brothers, Jerry and Terry West; cherished grandchildren, Whitney Mills, Kelsey Golden, Raygen Golden, Dustin Gray and Lucas Gray; great grandchildren, Oakley, Oliver and Kennedee Mills; among other loved ones and dear friends.
No services are planned.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
